Exciting news! The High Commissioner of Australia to India, Philip Green, announced on Monday that there are immense opportunities for boosting collaboration between India and Australia in the skills training sector. This collaboration would primarily focus on fields like digital technology, renewable energy, and infrastructure. With such ambitious plans in motion, the future looks bright for both nations!
During the Australia-India Skills Partnership Summit, Green shared his perspective on Australia’s globally competitive skill training. According to him, the courses offered by Australia are designed in consultation with industry experts. He expressed his desire to contribute more towards India’s journey to fulfill its massive skills demand in the coming decade. As the world’s fifth-largest economy, India is growing at an impressive rate of 8% per annum, making it the fastest-growing large economy globally.
The High Commissioner expressed his belief that every country in the world would be interested in India at this moment. He added that the economies of both countries are highly complementary. The Commissioner stated that India would benefit from many of the skills and attributes, metals and minerals, and energy that Australia has to offer for the next phase of its growth. He also mentioned that there are a million people of Indian origin residing in Australia, which further strengthens the relationship between the two nations.
The High Commissioner expressed his confidence in building a strong partnership between India and Australia. He believes that skills and training form the most important field on which the partnership can be built. The Commissioner further stated that Australia’s education and training providers have already delivered skills training to almost 50 nations worldwide.
A 33-member Australian delegation is in India to build partnerships with Indian institutions, universities, and corporate providers for skills training opportunities in sectors like digital technology, energy, healthcare, infrastructure, and logistics. The delegation is a part of the Australia-India future skills initiative, a national priority program that supports collaboration between Australian skills providers, Indian skilling institutions, and corporates to help meet New Delhi’s labor force requirements.
