New Brunswick Opens Immigration Streams with Key Changes for 2025
After a period of uncertainty, New Brunswick is finally reopening its immigration streams! However, due to federal limitations, the province will only be allowed 2,750 immigrant nomination spaces in 2025. This reduction has led to some tough decisions regarding who can apply and which industries will be prioritized.
Key Highlights of New Brunswick’s Immigration Changes:
- Limited Quotas: Only 2,750 total nomination spots are available.
- Priority Sectors: Healthcare, education, and construction workers will be given preference.
- Restricted Occupations: Some roles will not be eligible for nomination in 2025.
- Multiple Pathways Open: Streams like Express Entry, Skilled Worker, and Business Immigration are accepting applications.
Breaking Down the Numbers
The 2,750 nomination spots will be divided between:
- New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP): 1,500 spots
- Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP): 1,250 spots
Acting Minister of Post-Secondary Education, Jean-Claude D’Amours, expressed concerns that the reduced quota will impact the province’s economic growth. To counterbalance this, New Brunswick is focusing on attracting skilled workers in high-demand sectors while restricting applications for other roles.
