India’s First Fast-Track Immigration Trusted Traveller Programme: A Game Changer for Frequent Flyers
India has recently launched the Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveler Programme (FTI-TTP) to provide expedited immigration clearance at major international airports across the country.
This program is specifically designed for high net worth individuals (HNWI), CEOs, business tycoons, and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI). The Ministry of Home Affairs is overseeing the implementation of this initiative, and it has already garnered significant interest, with over 18,400 frequent global travelers and OCI cardholders registering for the program online. The primary objective of the FTI-TTP is to offer a faster and more efficient immigration process for eligible individuals entering India.
Highlights of the Programme:
- 60% Faster Immigration: So far, 1,500 passengers have already experienced swifter immigration through e-Gates.
- Nationwide Coverage: While the first phase covers airports like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and others, the plan is to expand to 21 major airports.
- Data Security: Officials assure that all personal data of enrollees is kept safe, with no information being shared.
- Biometric Registration: Eligible travelers can apply online and submit their biometrics (fingerprints and facial images) at international airports or the Foreigners Regional Registration Offices (FRRO).
Launched in June 2024, this programme is valid for up to five years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. It is currently free for Indian nationals and OCI cardholders.
A Tailored Experience:
FTI-TTP, also known as the India Traveler Trusted Traveler Program, is specifically tailored to cater to the needs of Indian travelers. It aims to provide similar benefits to those offered by the US Global Entry Programme, including expedited processing and pre-check benefits. The program is operational at Delhi’s Terminal 3, where travelers can take advantage of eight e-gates, allowing them to bypass standard queues and facilitating a faster and more convenient journey.
