Great news! The latest study on global talent shows that Germany is still the most desirable non-English-speaking country for employment. Although it has dropped to fifth place, it has retained its position as the top sought-after country in this category.
Australia has taken the lead this year, surpassing the United States and Canada, which had held the top positions in the 2020 ranking. This exciting news highlights the changes in global preferences and offers fresh opportunities for talented individuals seeking employment abroad.
Notably, the study’s findings indicate that the primary driver for people’s migration to Germany is the specific job opportunity available rather than any country-specific benefits. Approximately 75% of respondents who had relocated to Germany cited job quality as the primary reason.
The research further reveals that factors such as security (49%), monetary considerations (48%), potential for innovation (36%), and the German healthcare system (34%) also contributed to people’s preference for Germany.
The study also highlights that 77% of job seekers expect their prospective employers to provide extensive assistance with the immigration process, visa and work permit applications, and related matters. Such assistance may alleviate the shortage of skilled labor in Germany.
Tobias Zimmermann, a co-author of the study and a labor market expert at Stepstone Group, emphasized the crucial need for collaboration between politics and business to foster more flexible and rapid integration into the labor market. In conclusion, the study provides valuable insights into the factors that entice people to Germany and how organizations can support the integration of international workers.
