The government has launched a new initiative to attract skilled individuals to El Salvador. As part of this initiative, the government will grant 5,000 “free passports” to these skilled individuals, providing them full citizen status, including voting rights. This move is aimed at making it easier for these skilled individuals to relocate to El Salvador and contribute to the country’s society and future.
To make the relocation process smoother for these highly skilled individuals and their families, the government will waive taxes and tariffs on “moving families and assets,” including items such as equipment, software, and intellectual property. Moreover, the government will help in finding housing, opening bank accounts, and enrolling their children in schools.
Previously, El Salvador had imposed a fee on passengers traveling from Africa or India to address irregular migration through the country. However, this new initiative aims to attract a diverse group of skilled individuals, creating a more prosperous and innovative El Salvador.
