Express Entry: LMIA-Exempt Opportunities Await!

EE 2024

Did you know that having a job offer approved through Express Entry could be an exhilarating process? Your company may require a Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to make it happen, but don’t worry, not all positions need it. The best part? You might not even need an LMIA for your job offer to be approved by your company! Exciting, isn’t it?

  • You have a valid job offer and a valid work permit that is exempt from an LMA under an international agreement or a federal-provincial agreement.
  • You have been working full-time for the company on your work permit for at least a year, or an equivalent period of part-time labor.

The Canadian Interests: Some jobs in Canada are LMIA-exempt, such as skilled trade jobs covered by international agreements. Professionals, dealers, and investors under a deal between Canada and a province or territory can also be exempt.

Abilities Exempt for Canadian Interest Reasons:

Significant Benefit: Foreign workers are hired in Canada if they can demonstrate economic, social, and cultural benefits to the country. This includes self-employed professionals, transferred employees, and workers with specific knowledge. Additionally, athletes and coaches representing Canadian teams may be included.

Get Canada PR Through Express Entry:

The Express Entry pool ranks candidates using the CRS score, which considers various factors such as skills, experience, education, language proficiency, job offer, and more. The score ranges up to 1,200 points, with 600 points for each part.

Express Entry Draws in 2024:

The IRCC held four Express Entry lotteries this year, inviting 10,280 applicants in total to apply for permanent residence in Canada. The CRS score fell to 365 points in the most recent draw, thanks to category-based selections. This approach focuses on applicants with particular abilities or qualities instead of just high CRS scores.

Category-Based Selections:

The IRCC has been aggressively adopting category-based selections, emphasizing applicants with experience in highly sought-after fields or French proficiency. Candidates in these categories have received Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for PR in 2024 despite having lower CRS scores. The goal of the Express Entry program is to approve a record 11,770 new permanent citizens.

Express Entry Next Draw Prediction:

The CRS score requirement is expected to stay low in 2024. The IRCC may create new categories to meet changing immigration demands. Sectors such as healthcare, STEM, trades, transportation, agriculture, and fluency in French may continue to receive special attention.

Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS):

The Express Entry pool ranks candidates using the CRS score, which considers various factors such as skills, experience, education, language proficiency, job offer, and more. The score ranges up to 1,200 points, with 600 points for each part.

Increasing CRS Score:

It is possible to raise an applicant’s CRS score if it is comparatively low. Applying for a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), which can earn up to 600 CRS points, is one efficient strategy. Working with a knowledgeable immigration advisor like Visas Avenue can offer complete support for managing the PNP procedure.
