Canada’s 2025 Provincial Immigration Kicks Off: Big Moves in Alberta & New Brunswick!
Exciting news for aspiring immigrants! The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has officially launched its first Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw of 2025, issuing invitations to skilled candidates with ties to Alberta. Meanwhile, New Brunswick has provided crucial updates on application processing for its newly reopened immigration programs. If you’re aiming for a PNP nomination in Canada, here’s everything you need to know!
🇨🇦 Alberta’s First PNP Draws of 2025: Who Got Invited?
The AAIP recently revealed the results of its first three draws of the year, held between February 3 and 6. These draws focused on high-demand sectors, including rural renewal and healthcare.
🔹 February 3 – Rural Renewal Stream
- Cut-off Score: 68
- Invitations Issued: 190
🔹 February 5 – Dedicated Health Care Pathway (Express Entry)
- Cut-off Score: 52
- Invitations Issued: 70
🔹 February 6 – Dedicated Health Care Pathway (Non-Express Entry)
- Cut-off Score: 50
- Invitations Issued: 48
🩺 Why the Focus on Healthcare?
Alberta is actively prioritizing healthcare professionals, offering opportunities through both the Express Entry-aligned intake and the non-Express Entry intake. Even if you don’t qualify for Alberta’s Express Entry stream, you may still be eligible under the Dedicated Health Care Pathway—a golden opportunity for medical professionals looking to work in Canada!
🌍 New Brunswick: Processing Updates & EOI Portal Issues
New Brunswick’s Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) is back in action! Following a high demand for applications, the province has announced important updates:
✅ ITAs (Invitations to Apply) will start rolling out in March 2025
✅ The province is actively reviewing EOIs (Expressions of Interest)
✅ Portal issues? Due to overwhelming traffic, the Immigration New Brunswick (INB) portal has faced technical difficulties, but IT staff are working on fixes
⏳ Patience is Key!
The Skilled Worker Stream is not processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Instead, candidates are encouraged to review the latest eligibility criteria, including updates on National Occupation Classification (NOC) restrictions, before submitting their EOI.
📌 Reminder: Submitted EOIs remain valid for up to 365 days from the submission date.
💡 What Does This Mean for You?
🎯 If you’re looking to immigrate to Alberta, now is the perfect time to check if you qualify for healthcare or rural renewal programs.
🎯 For those aiming for New Brunswick, keep an eye out for the upcoming ITA rounds and make sure your EOI meets the updated eligibility requirements.
