Breaking News: Canada Invites 4,000 Candidates in Latest Express Entry Draw!

Canada’s immigration system is in full swing! Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has once again opened doors for skilled workers by issuing 4,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in the latest Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Express Entry draw.

What’s Trending in Express Entry Draws?

With Canada’s Immigration Levels Plan, the focus in 2025 is clear. IRCC aims to invite candidates from:

Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and PNP applicants through the new In-Canada Focus categoryCategory-based selection targeting healthcare, skilled trades, and French-speaking professionals under the Federal Economic Priorities category ✔ Over 124,000 new permanent residents expected to be welcomed in 2025

Express Entry vs. Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

Canada operates both federal and provincial immigration programs to bring in skilled workers. Here’s how they differ:

Express Entry: The Federal Route

Express Entry is Canada’s largest federal immigration system, consisting of:

  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC) – for individuals with work experience in Canada
  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) – for skilled workers worldwide
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) – for workers in trade occupations

Provincial Nominee Program (PNP): The Regional Pathway

PNPs allow provinces to nominate skilled workers based on regional labor market needs. PNPs can be Base PNPs (direct provincial nomination) or Enhanced PNPs (linked with Express Entry).

🔹 Base PNP: Candidates apply directly to a province, receive a nomination, and then apply for permanent residence through IRCC.

🔹 Enhanced PNP: Candidates either enter the Express Entry pool first and receive a nomination later or apply directly through a PNP program linked with Express Entry. A PNP nomination adds 600 CRS points, almost guaranteeing an ITA in the next draw!

What’s Next for Immigrants to Canada?

With the CEC and PNP pathways gaining momentum, candidates should keep an eye on CRS score trends and upcoming category-based draws. If you are an aspiring immigrant, this is the perfect time to prepare your profile, boost your CRS score, and explore PNP options!
