Express Entry Insights What’s Changing in November 2024!

The October Surge: Navigating Canada’s Express Entry Updates

October brought a breath of fresh air to the Express Entry system, as Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) ramped up its immigration draws after a slowdown in September. With new selections and a notable focus on trade occupations, the month was eventful for prospective immigrants.

Key Highlights from October:

  • Increased Draw Frequency: IRCC held six Express Entry draws across four streams, issuing a total of 5,961 invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residence (PR). This mirrors the 5,911 ITAs from September, but the draws were more frequent, resulting in smaller draw sizes.
  • Focus on Trade Occupations: Notably, October featured the second Express Entry trade occupations draw of 2024, the first since July.
  • CRS Score Trends: The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off scores saw an uptick compared to September, reflecting the competitive nature of the current pool. As of October 22, the distribution of scores in the Express Entry pool indicated a diverse range of candidates, with over 211,780 individuals vying for their chance at PR.
