The ballot system is an electronic random selection method where applicants are chosen to submit their Work and Holiday visa applications online. With the growing demand for these visas exceeding the available spots, this process ensures a more balanced selection of applicants.
- Registration Fee: AUD 25
- Launch Date: 2024-25 program year
- Eligible Countries: China, Vietnam, and India (first-time applicants only)
Key Features of the Visa
The Work and Holiday visa allows individuals aged 18-30 to experience an extended holiday in Australia, with the added benefit of short-term work to fund their stay. Visa holders can also:
- Study for up to 4 months
- Travel in and out of Australia multiple times during the visa period

Important Notes
- Indian Citizens: Under the Australia-India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (AI-ECTA), 1,000 Indian citizens aged 18-30 can apply each year.
- Current Visa Holders: Those already holding a Work and Holiday visa from China, Vietnam, or India can still apply for a second or third visa through ImmiAccount.
