Latest Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Invitations: British Columbia and Manitoba Make Waves!

This week, British Columbia and Manitoba opened their doors to skilled workers through their Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), offering a golden ticket to those aiming to boost their provincial labor markets. Here’s a snapshot of the week’s highlights:

British Columbia (B.C.)

In a strategic move to fill critical labor gaps, B.C. conducted a targeted draw via the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP). A total of 147 candidates received invitations through the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams, including the Express Entry British Columbia (EEBC) option.

Key Details:

  • Childcare Workers: Minimum score of 89 (33 invites)
  • Construction Workers: Minimum score of 90 (27 invites)
  • Healthcare Workers: Minimum score of 101 (22 invites)
  • Tech Workers: Minimum score of 120 (64 invites)
  • Veterinary Care Workers: Minimum score of 80 (at least one invite)

The Skilled Worker category targets international professionals with post-secondary education and relevant experience in management, technical, trade, or other skilled occupations. Candidates must secure a full-time permanent job offer in a skilled occupation from a B.C. employer. For regulated occupations, proof of mandatory certification or licensing is required at the time of application. Full-time paid co-op placements are also accepted as work experience if they match the National Occupational Classification (NOC) level of the job offer.

Manitoba

Manitoba’s Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) held two separate draws this week, each aimed at distinct streams of skilled workers.

First Draw:

  • Stream: Skilled Workers in Manitoba
  • Invitations: 145
  • NOC: 44101 (Home support workers, caregivers, and related occupations) or broad occupation category “3” (healthcare occupations)

Second Draw:

  • Stream: Skilled Worker Overseas
  • Invitations: 58
  • Minimum Score: 724
  • Condition: Invitations extended under the “Strategic Recruitment Initiative”

Among the 203 invitations issued by the MPNP, 29 were awarded to candidates with a valid Express Entry profile, emphasizing the province’s commitment to attracting top-tier talent.

Conclusion

These recent draws reflect B.C. and Manitoba’s proactive strategies to enhance their labor markets by inviting skilled professionals. By targeting specific occupations, both provinces ensure they attract candidates who are well-equipped to meet local demands, paving the way for economic growth and development.
